About Equal Representation in Government and Democracy

Our elected officials should represent all of their constituencies.  But, when all the representatives have similar backgrounds, we do not benefit from the richness of experiences and perspectives that make America great.  50-50 by 2020® is the goal for 50% women and 50% men in government by the year 2020, the 100th anniversary of the right to vote for women.  Equal representation is the essence of democracy.  Equal Representation in Government and Democracy is dedicated to education to help achieve the goal of 50-50 by 2020®.

About the Logo

The logo is intended to depict a window to the future.  The colors, forest green and ocean blue, represent the breadth and depth of what is possible when all Americans participate equally.  The lower half is a mirror image of the upper half, because the strength of American democracy is a reflection of the strength of the American people.
