Donna Edwards sworn in to the US House of Representatives - June 19, 2008 - In a special election, Donna Edwards won the 4th District in Maryland and was sworn into the US House of Representatives today.  She is the first African-American woman to be elected to the US House from Maryland.  She becomes the 72nd female representative currently serving in the US House which is a new record for women.
